Frankfurt/Main, 28 September 2017. The Supervisory Board of DIC Asset AG (WKN A1X3XX / ISIN DE000A1X3XX4) has decided to appoint Sonja Wärntges as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). She will assume her new role on 1 October 2017, succeeding Aydin Karaduman, who will resign from his position on the Management Board at the end of 30 September 2017. Ms Wärntges has been serving as CFO of DIC Asset AG since 1 June 2013 and will continue to oversee Finance & Controlling, in addition to leading the company as CEO. The Supervisory Board also announced the appointment of Dirk Hasselbring, currently Managing Director of DIC Asset AG’s operative investment fund management arm DIC Fund Balance GmbH, to the Management Board, where he will assume responsibility for the newly formed Funds Business function. The term of office for Management Board member Johannes von Mutius has been extended. Mr von Mutius will continue to oversee the Investment Business until 31 December 2020.
Prof. Dr Gerhard Schmidt, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DIC Asset AG, said: “With these leadership appointments, the Supervisory Board has set the stage for the future of DIC Asset AG. We are delighted that Sonja Wärntges, an experienced top manager who has proven her skills and leadership qualities in our group for the past six years, will assume the role of Chairman of the Management Board and CEO. By bringing Dirk Hasselbring on board, we stay abreast of the growing importance of our funds business. And by extending Johannes von Mutius’ CIO mandate until 31 December 2020, we have ensured that the Management Board remains strong, with three capable leaders who know how to make swift decisions and lead efficiently.” The Supervisory Board would like to thank Aydin Karaduman for his commitment and dedication.
Sonja Wärntges is a strong leader and manager with a long executive track record in renowned organisations. She has many years of experience in the real estate industry and is a member of the Executive Committee of the German Property Federation (ZIA).
Dirk Hasselbring held various executive roles in the real estate and funds businesses before joining DIC Asset AG in June 2017. These included the positions of Management Board member at Deutsche EuroShop AG and Chairman of the Management Board of Hamburg Trust.
Johannes von Mutius is a highly esteemed expert in the field of real estate with ample leadership experience in the sector. He joined the Management Board of DIC Asset AG in April 2014.
